The Wordsworth-Coleridge Association is sponsoring a festive lunch at the 2024 convention of the Modern Language Association in Philadelphia. In addition, the Wordsworth-Coleridge Association is presenting a scholarly session.

Maggiano'sThe lunch will be held on Saturday, January 6, at Maggiano's Little Italy, 1201 Filbert Street, Philadelphia. This event is open to members and non-members of the Association and the MLA. All are welcome to attend! Advance reservations are requested by December 20, although we will continue to accept reservations after that date on a space-available basis.

This annual lunch is always a social high-point of the MLA Convention, and we are delighted to host a festive gathering of British, European, and American Romanticists of all stripes, along with your friends, students and colleagues. We promise lively conversation, excellent company and delicious Italian fare. The lunch is "priced below cost" at $30 per person (or $20 for adjunct faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars). The menu includes a tasty selection of salads, entrees, dessert, soft drinks, coffee and tea. Wine, beer and cocktails are available at the cash bar. We hope to see you there!

The Wordsworth-Coleridge Association provides affiliation, services, and information to an international community of scholars, editors, teachers, critics, graduate students, historians, librarians, authors, independent scholars, and non-academics in other professions. The range of interests represented by the Association is equally eclectic; it includes but is in no way limited to the lives, works, and times of British, American, and European writers from 1770 to 1850. The Wordsworth-Coleridge Association and The Wordsworth Circle provide an essential center for dialogue, review, and renewal, for developing the voices of the future, for assimilating contemporary concerns, for preserving the great literary and cultural resources we are heir to, and for extending a sense of scholarly community.
